Lead sources
A source is where a lead came from: a marketplace, your website, a lead provider or a phone number. Sources show on each lead and power your reports. Find them in Connections > Lead sources.
Everyone can see this page. Managers and above can change it.
How sources are recognised
Section titled “How sources are recognised”Lead emails sent to your inbox email address are matched to a source by who sent them. Threadkite already knows many lead providers. Emails from a sender it doesn’t know show as Other lead provider with the sender’s domain.
Name a source
Section titled “Name a source”When an unknown sender’s leads come in, click Name this source to say who they are. Future leads from that sender are tagged with it.
Manage your sources
Section titled “Manage your sources”On the Lead sources page you can:
- Find a source by name
- Rename a source, or hide one you don’t use
- Add a sender address or domain to a source, when a provider emails from an address Threadkite doesn’t know
- Add your own source, such as a local magazine or a referral scheme
Received emails
Section titled “Received emails”Received emails lists each new email that reached your inbox address and how it was Read as: a lead, a customer’s message, or not a lead (suppliers, newsletters and the like). It also shows any that couldn’t be read, with the reason. Click View original to see the email as it arrived, or Open the thread to go to the lead.
If an email was misjudged, you can name its source from here.
Send a test lead
Section titled “Send a test lead”Send a test lead sends a made-up lead through the same steps a real one takes, and shows what became of it. Use it to check your set-up before you give your address out.
