Sending email from your own domain
Out of the box, your emails come from Threadkite’s address with your business’s name on them, and replies come back to your inbox. Verifying your own domain means customers see your own address, such as sales@yourbusiness.co.uk, and your emails are more likely to reach their inbox.
Everyone can see Connections > Email sending. Owners and admins set it up.
Add your domain
Section titled “Add your domain”- Go to Connections > Email sending and click Add your domain.
- Enter Your domain, such as yourbusiness.co.uk.
- Add the records shown to your domain’s DNS settings, where your domain is managed. Copy each value exactly.
- Wait for the records to be checked. Changes can take up to a day to show, but usually much less.
Someone else looks after your DNS? Enter their email address, and we’ll send them the records to add.
Choose who emails come from
Section titled “Choose who emails come from”Once your domain is verified, set the address under Send as, such as “sales”. The page shows How your emails look: who they’re From, where replies go (Reply to) and an example email.
Replies you write carry your first name with the business’s name, so customers know who they’re talking to. Automated and bulk messages show your business’s name alone.
Get replies to your inbox
Section titled “Get replies to your inbox”Customers replying to your own address need their replies to reach Threadkite. The wizard’s Next: replies step shows you how; the simplest way is to forward your mailbox to your inbox email address. See Email.
More than one domain
Section titled “More than one domain”If you trade under more than one name, click Add another domain. Use Remove to take a domain off.
On the Free plan
Section titled “On the Free plan”Until you verify a domain, the Free plan can send up to 100 emails a day from Threadkite’s address, and emails carry a small “Sent with Threadkite” line.
