Moving messages and changing the main contact

Sometimes a message ends up in the wrong place, such as an email from a partner filed under the customer. You can put it right. You need a Full seat to move messages.

  1. Open the menu on the message.
  2. Choose Move to another contact.
  3. Pick the contact it belongs to.

The message moves to that contact’s thread.

If you have more than one inbox, open the message’s menu and choose Move to another inbox. To move the whole thread, use More actions > Move to another inbox….

When an email copies other people in, they join the thread and show under Also in this thread in the contact panel. Replies from them land in the same thread.

If one of them turns out to be the person you’re really dealing with, click Make main next to their name. They become the thread’s main contact; the previous one stays on as someone also in the thread. The owner, stage and leads stay with the thread.

You can’t make someone the main contact if they already have their own thread in that inbox. Merge the two contacts instead.

If the same person is in Threadkite twice, merge them so all their threads and details are in one place. See Merging contacts.
