Logging visits, calls and messages

Not every customer gets in touch through a connected channel. Someone walks in, rings your mobile or messages you on a channel you haven’t connected. Log it, so it counts in your reports and your team can see it.

  1. Click New at the top of any page.
  2. Choose Log a visit, Log a call or Log a message.
  3. Search your contacts for Who it was, or add someone new with a phone number or email so you can follow up.
  4. Fill in what happened, such as when it happened, How they heard about you or Where they messaged you, and what they’re Interested in (optional).
  5. Under They’re happy to hear about offers by, record any marketing consent they gave.
  6. Choose a Next step, such as a task for you with a reminder, or booking an appointment.
  7. Save.

The visit, call or message is added to the contact’s thread, and counts as a lead when it starts new interest.

To write to someone first:

  1. Click New and choose New message.
  2. Search for a contact by name, email or phone number, or enter new details.
  3. Choose the channel and write your Message.
  4. Send it, or send it later.

If you sometimes email customers from Outlook, Gmail or your phone, you can copy those emails into their threads with your personal logging address. See Email.
