The website assistant

The website assistant is an AI chat on your website. It answers visitors’ questions from your catalogue, opening hours and what you tell it, day and night, and asks for their details so your team can follow up. Its chats arrive in your inbox.

The assistant needs Pro. Pro includes 100 AI conversations a month for your business: website chats and AI responder conversations both count. The AI unlimited add-on, in Settings > Billing, removes the limit. When the included conversations run out, your website shows the contact form instead until the next month, so you never lose a lead.

  1. Add your website and its script first. See Adding your website.
  2. Open the website in Connections > Websites.
  3. Under Websites that can show it, list your website addresses, one per line. The assistant only shows on these.
  4. Turn on Show the assistant on this website.

On the website’s page you can set:

  • Assistant’s name and its Greeting
  • How it looks: its Colour, Button, Words on the button, which Corner it sits in and how far from the bottom and side
  • When it’s on: Always on, or chosen times for each day of the week
  • Where it shows, and pages it should Never show on, such as /checkout
  • What it can do
  • Locations it talks about. It only names locations that have opening hours.

A preview shows how it will look.

The assistant reads your Knowledge: short entries about your business, such as delivery, returns or parking. Add them in Settings > Knowledge:

  1. Click Add an entry.
  2. Give it a Title, such as “Delivery”.
  3. Write What the AI should know in plain text. One topic per entry works best.
  4. Save.

Use the arrows to change the order the AI reads them in. When you remove an entry, the AI stops using it straight away.

Chats with visitors who haven’t left their details are in the Website visitors folder. Once a visitor leaves their details, the chat moves to their thread, and you can reply from there.

Under Limits you can set how many Visitor messages per chat the assistant answers. The usage card shows how many AI conversations you’ve used this month.
