Merging contacts
Threadkite matches people by email address and phone number, but the same person can still end up in twice, for example when they write from a new email address. Merging joins the two, so their threads and details are in one place.
You need a Full seat to merge contacts.
Merge two contacts
Section titled “Merge two contacts”- Open a thread with one of the contacts, or their contact page.
- In the contact panel, click Merge.
- Under Find the duplicate, search for the other contact and choose them. Use Choose someone else if you picked the wrong one.
- Check what will happen. The dialog lists what moves across, then click Merge contacts.
Suggested merges
Section titled “Suggested merges”When Threadkite spots another contact with the same email address or phone number, the contact panel shows Same person? with a Merge button beside each one.
Undo a merge
Section titled “Undo a merge”You can undo a merge for 7 days. Open the contact panel and look under Recent merges, then click Undo.
What a merge does
Section titled “What a merge does”You merge the other contact into the one you started from, which is the one you keep. Before you confirm, the dialog shows exactly what happens:
- their messages move into the thread of the contact you keep
- records linked from your other systems move across
- their consent for each channel moves across
- details the contact you keep is missing, such as a phone number, are filled in from theirs
